I've just had my water bill. I knew there was going to be an extra charge but flipping heck nearly 100% more! and this will be added until the end of January 2025. Just what we need in the present climate!

Have you got a leak? Check the very small dial on your meter with everything turned off. If its turning then get the leak detectors in! Best of luck!

They haven't charged the full tax or sanitation fees for 18 months due to the financial crisis. They are now charging an amount equal to 1/18th of the charge each month so they will recoup the under payment.

Our bill was 36 euro (ish) but a further 27.60 was added as the unpaid sanitation and sewerage fees. Before they stopped the charges out quarterly bill was around 55 euro.

No leak grichn. Consumption was €51, with a further €49 added. As marcliff explained. Still a bit of a shock though.

No complaints when they didn't charge for the sanitation fees etc,
is there any posts asking why water bills had gone down way back then,
but now they recouping there undercharged,
the questions ask why an increased bill,
Which is fair enough if you don't know,
Its not an increase just a catch up charge, to recoup the decrease in charge on previous bills,
I suppose its human nature to moan about increases,
And supermarkets/companys spend thousands telling consumers some products are cheaper/ reduced in price, but never advertise increases
I suppose its a bit like a back dated pay rise, that unions used to fight for for there members,
good answer by marcliff as always ,
