Go for the "low cost airport transfer". It's a legal taxis but one that you have to pre book, you can't just flag them down.

They will quote you a price and that's the price you pay at the end of your journey. They also accept card payment.

What price did he quote you? I know this is dependent on flight time but I'm interested for the sake of comparison. Our usual price is 50 euro for an 9:00pm pickup from Alicante. Cheers.
