car hire & TIE

im looking into visiting Gran Canaria next year and hiring a car
i have only my bank card from Cajamar bank. Is this acceptable as they ask for a credit card ? ( its very difficult to get to ask this question with the rental company )
Also is it best to take my passport as well as my TIE ?

If you use a debit card instead of a credit card they usually add an amount on top of the rental which is refunded when you take the car back but each car hire company has different rules.

Whilst your TIE would suffice, we always take our passports with us when leaving mainland Spain just in case. They weren't required in Mallorca, though, just the TIE.

I was in Gran Canaria earlier this year, TIE accepted everywhere, no problems encountered
