Water heater gone bye bye

Water heater gone bye bye

Postby vivmatt13 » Tue Sep 26, 2023 10:05 am

Morning all,

Our electric water heater has just decided to spray water all over the utility room and trip all fuses. Looks like I need it looked at. Any recommendations please. Thanks.

Electric boilers only work for a couple of years - if you leave them on for 24/7 they last longer - we had to replace our boiler after 4 years - sorry, a new one is required

You can get a new boiler at Euronics by Consum. They will also provide someone to fit it at a cost of around 100euro and the ones that did ours used all new piping, parts etc and did a really good job.
Not sure but the boiler was about 200 euro.

Understand that the OP is now sorted but for anyone else I would recommend Tien21 in Algofa. https://www.tien21.es/tiendas/tien21-pedraza.html?utm_source=G&utm_medium=&utm_campaign=google-local

We paid 165 euro for the boiler and 35 euro fitting, all done the same day. The guy speaks good english and his advice is sound. The fitter as brilliant, even moved some pipes so we could fit a bigger fridge/freezer.

If its leaking and more than 2 years old for example it is probably carboned up inside and needs replacing
They start to leak at the flexihoses normally but can also leak at the seams
You could try tightening the hoses but i suspect it needs changing
I just got a new one from leroy merlin for a friend, 80 ltr with 5 year guarantee for 131 euros in an online flash sale
Just looking for a plumber to fit it
