Santander do not charge for ATM withdrawals from Santander ATMs on mainland Spain.

If you use a Santander debit card for purchases then you may be charged. Use a Santander credit card for purchases and a Santander debit card for ATM cash withdrawals.

Always remember to take the "No conversion" option when using either card.

If you have a UK santander account and choose no currency exchange there is no charge at a Santander ATM and as quite rightly stated you get close to the commercial rate

The original question was about using the Wise debit card in Spanish ATMs. Santander, N26, Revolut and the rest obviously all have their own terms and conditions.

Deutsche Bank in La Mata won’t charge you for withdrawing from their ATM using a Wise card.
