MRI SCAN FOR A DOG

Can anyone tell me if they have had an MRI scan for there dog and how much was it .

Hi, yes our Labrador had one about 4 years ago at San Anton Quesada as that is where the machine is, it was about €500 but it does depend on what part of the body, with or without contrast etc

The UK charges from £3,000 and the USA can cost up to $6,000, so spain is relatively cheap
Sorry for the large text, every time i copy and paste onto a post here it is enormous
I would shop around , my wife found one in the canary islands for 389 including anaesthetic and all other costs, obviously too far for you to go though

I think you'll find that their machine is in the hospital in Guardamar.

Yes, we had an MRI scan for one of our Frenchies at San Anton in Quesada next to Quesada Fish and Chips in June of this year.

From memory I believe it was 300€ and that was a brain scan.

BTW they were lovely people in there.

Obviously, this may be covered by insurance depending on the type of cover offered and the policy you have (if you have one).

I think you may have to be referred by a vet, however we use Veterpet and were booked in for the MRI (via the hospital in Guardemar) within a coupleof days.

So sorry to hear that you have this dilemma

We had a MRI for our girl in the UK and it cost over a £1,000. She was a Great Dane and it was a full body scan of her spine, and because of her size, it was undertaken at Huntingdon, where they usually scan Horses

The scan showed very clearly what the problem was, and what the choices were


It helped us to decide not to operate, and to enjoy the short remaking time that we had with her

This said, we made a decision never to do this again, not because of the cost, but because of the stress and discomfort for both us and our girl

My dog had a MRI in Murcia - €300.

We had one some years ago on one of our dogs. At the time we had to travel to a practice in Murcia who performed it and if was in the region of 300 euros.
