Non resident

Non resident

We were chatting this evening about buying things in Spain when not a resident. I said I didn’t think non residents could buy using finance and repaying monthly but I was told that you can buy TVs , electric goods etc.,and even a car. I dispute this but it could be true! I suppose they can do a credit check and see if you are a debtor or a good risk.
I await your knowledgeable replies.
Cheers.

Well, yes. You can actually get a mortgage if you are a non resident.
When I bought my first car here as a non resident the dealer asked if I wanted finance.

When we bought some furniture, as a non resident, the bank would email me to see if I wanted to spread the cost over a certain period. Same with a TV from MicroMarkt and they asked me if I wanted to pay in instalments even though we were non residents.

I suppose if you own property that would be the collateral they were looking for.

Yes we were able to buy a car on finance. We had to send a copy of our deeds.

Wow! When we bought our new car we didn’t intend to use finance but were told it wasn’t available to us anyway. Funnily enough, I did see that Caixa bank were offering finance a couple of years ago but as we no longer use a Spanish bank, I forgot about that. So, I was wrong!!
Sincere thanks for replies.
