Is there a form to fill in for a relative to be allowed to drive my car,or must I contact my insurance?

Your car will be insured for any driver over 25 so there is no need to contact your insurer.

There is no official form for other drivers but there is a pre-prepared unofficial one on the N332 website.
It's simply to prove that a driver has permission to be driving the car and has not stolen it.

Do check your policy as not all spanish motor insurance companies allow any driver over 25 to drive your car, will want notification

There is an official Trafico form for other drivers to use your car. I can find it if anyone wants it.

True. It can stipulate an age other than 25 so be careful.

Slightly off topic, how do U25's get insured? Named drivers for extra premium? (my ins company wouldn't do this)
I know in Spain the policy is for the car not the driver, but my 23 year old - very competent driver - daughter is always peeved at having to be ferried around...

What's seems to be being forgotten here is that when a car is insured it's automatically insured for any driver, and that includes under 25's or whatever an insurer has specified.

If the policy conditions are contravened, minimum age limits for example, the level of the cover may be reduced but the very minimum 3rd party cover required by law will be in place at all times.

Where a policy imposes an age limitation, be that 25 or whatever, it does not mean that cover is suspended or voided if the rule is contravened but that cover may be reduced to the minimum 3rd party required by law and following an accident the policy excess may be substantially increased or possibly a claim for own damage declined altogether.
