You can't always test things when you meet up in carparks or wherever

There are a great many references to Firestick remote problems on the net, with solutions, so it's far from unknown issue. I've experienced it myself.

The fact that the problem was overcome proves that there was nothing actually 'wrong' it.

Difficult to understand how someone so experienced could arrive at a conclusion that it was the wrong control!
