It's clever because they don't ask for an amount in the first instance. Like all good scams they lead you along a bit at a time
I don’t think you’re getting the gist here pedro!

A bit late when the A/Cs have already been hijacked.
The bottom line to all of this, and many other scams, is that the mere mention of gift cards, Western Union, or PayPal Friends & Family, all favourites for scammers, should instantly set the alarm bells ringing.

It's Pedros account that's been hacked not his friends.

There was a programme all about scams on ITV on monday night, very informative
I know about most scams from what i read online etc, the first thing i always do when i get an e mail is hover the mouse over the senders address
Normally i get hieroglyphics , a jumble of letters or numbers , or sometimes nothing, both an indication of it being scam
But some just alter one letter of an e mail, or insert a comma or the like so it looks like the original, the scammers rely on people not noticing this or make it urgent to rush the person into taking action immediately
They are getting more sophisticated so you just have to try to keep up with them
But the best advice with a money sending scam as mentioned here is call your friend or family first to confirm
I had a request for help from my daughter recently who is at uni in the UK, i thought it was a scam
When i called her it wasn't, so it works both ways
