Fresh cranberries?

Hi. Has anyone seen fresh cranberries anywhere or cranberry sauce other than Ocean Spray. I was in
El Corte Ingles yesterday thinking I might have got them there, but no.

Cranberries are generally sold around Christmas time. You’ll hopefully get them in December.

I have tried the dried ones but they are no good for making cranberry sauce. I wonder would the frozen ones work.

Never been able to find them here - except from the British Grreengrocer outside Reeves Butchers, who disappeared a few years ago.
Sometimes in Food Co/Overseas in the run up to Christmas, but they don’t stock more than 5 or 6 small bags during the whole Christmas run up. But I have never seen them fresh at anytime of the year either on the markets or in the Spanish supermarkets.
I’ve always made my own cranberry sauce, so shop bought just make the grade for me - but maybe that’s down to the amount of alcohol in my version!

Hi rainbow 54,
Yes you can make cranberry sauce from frozen ones, just let them fully defrost first. I too do not like the commercially made versions and always used to use fresh but now with smaller family numbers at Christmas find it much easier to use frozen ones.

For Information the Tesco shop is no longer Tesco it is Coop and Waitrose. Many lines have disappeared that were Tescos and being replaced with versions from Co-op Waitrose and Super Value, (Irish company I believe)
