Wise account hacked

Hello my wise account was hacked early hours this morning spending in USD ? blocked my account and informed Wise who are investigating.
Never had this problem before as we have been members since they started trading as Transfer wise.

had you been doing a transfer before you were hacked and how did you know

Hi didn’t use card - we received usual email from wise stating the amount, company name but not area in USD and who it was to. It was at 7.30 UK time it was used - very strange.
Still waiting for Wise to report back?
Luckily I have my own account so we are not stuck.
Update when we hear from Wise.

A dermatology place in USA tried to take money from my Wise card, Wise actually stopped the transaction before I even became aware of it. They said my card had probably been cloned. I was never really happy with their replies so just cancelled the card and do without a physical card. I just have a digital one when I need it.

Hi just heard this morning from wise stating it will be but 8 days ‘blocked’, until things are resolved.

Quicker to order a new card.

Personally I use mine mostly for currency transactions not shopping so there is usually only money on it whilst I'm doing that.

Hi yes we ordered our replacement card a few weeks ago although current one does not expire until January.
However not long ago received in the account a new card at least now this can be added to my wallet.

Yes, we found Wise very good for that. We ordered our new card before the old one expired. The new one is almost immediately available for use in your mobile 'wallet' via NFC even before the physical one arrives. So until the old one expires we have two cards. In the case of suspected fraud it is simple to cancel or suspend a card on the app yourself and order another.

On the subject of the Wise card.
I'm new to Wise and I've registered for a Virtual (digital) card.
This is where I'm a bit confused. The digital card has a number which I can view on the App. Is this the real or virtual number?
Wise say the virtual card can only be used with Apple or Google pay. Does that mean I cannot use the card number on it's own for (say) online shopping?
If someone can throw some light on this I'd be most grateful.
