Car Tax (suma)

I bought a 2nd hand car a few months ago here in Spain. The tax was paid on it at the start of the year by the previous owner. 2024 will be my first time taxing a car here. Will I be contacted by Suma or do I go to their office to arrange payment.

I was contacted automatically when i bought mine. The bill turned up in the mail. However, if you have not received anything by say a week before it's due, you can go to the suma.es website and request the bill, of which you can pay there and then with a card. You can also pay cash into one of the participating cash points.

Participating cash points. What and where are they. I take it the tax is due on the 1st of January. Would that be right.

Yes the tax is due on 1st Jan but bills are not sent out until around april

Car tax paid early May,easiest way is go to suma office in either Rojales or Playa Flamenca & set a d/debit up for it.

The cash points (if i can remember correctly) are either la caixa or sabadel. I think there's another, caka rural perhaps. It tells you on the bill anyway.
