Only 15.50 for me as I is classed as old.....Yeah, I know I am, no need to rub it in.

In Ireland it was always called "The Old Age Pension" until we got politically correct and it went from Retirement Pension to currently called The State Pension. They don't want to be hurting our feelings by calling us "old". Irish Pensioners get a rise of €12 per week from 1st January next. A good bit better than the usual €5.

Your SERPS pension will be getting the same increase percentage wise

Don’t forget the money you can have before you pay tax is frozen til 2028,this means you only need a small private pension of around £1200 to put you into paying tax of 20% for every pound over the limit.A lot of people are going to caught in this trap in the next 4 yrs.If you have a decent private pension you lose 20% of increase already.

Not everybody has a SERPS element, my wife does not and only gets the basic old pension of £169 and some coppers.

Yes but frankly not much else Hunt could have done really, with an election looming he dare not further alienate pensioners by breaking it (again).

The basic state pension is £156.20 so she is getting some add on

People retiring over the last few year’s and in the future do not receive SERPS anymore ! I have wrote to two pension ministers wanting the reason why. Still waiting for a reply.

Thought the uk state pension
Was classed as a benefit by DWP, does that mean all uk entitled pensioners are on benefits now,
