Currency Conversion

Hi all,

I have been in touch with the Spanish lawyers on here (thanks for suggestions and recommendations, all) and they have pointed me in the direction of a currency conversion firm to help me get the best rate for my UK pound in Euro.

Is it wise to go with a recommendation from the lawyers, or should it be a completely independent firm again?

Check out Wise (formerly Transferwise) they give great exchange rates & no charges from issuing or receiving bank.

I’ll be very surprised if a solicitor is not on some sort of commission for recommendations,use,open a Wise account & use them.

I have opened a Wise account previously, but was not aware they handled such large amounts. I’m talking the price of a property. That would not be a problem for Wise?

If I use a Wise account, how do I get the money out in Spain to give to the lawyers to make the property purchase?

You get a debit card which you can use like any other.

You first load it with £ then convert to € within the app.

Do be aware that WISE are not covered by any bank guarantees, nor covered by the FSCS. WISE are not a bank but a money service institution.

If a legal firm recommends a currency firm they will earn commission which will effect the rates you get Wise can transfer very large amounts well over the cost of the highest price of a villa on Quesada I would ring them and get clarification
