Free to air BBC, ITV, SkyNews etc. channels work fine without a VPN, and I use a Netflix UK account here with no problem. But you do need a VPN for BBCIplayer, ITVX.

Best advice is to stay well clear of any free VPN service, pay for a subscription then you have nothing to worry about.

I agree, I am with NordVPN. Have had it for about 4 years, very reputable, works very well, and is not expensive.
