Good morning all . Please be aware that if you have just reached the age of 76 and you
have a Caser funeral plan , CASER DOUBLES THE MONTHLY PAYMENT , THEY DON'T TELL
YOU THAT WHEN YOU FIRST TAKE THE POLICY OUT !!!! GRRRRR !!! . HAVE PAID IN THOSANDS
OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS . MORE THAN ENOUGH TO PAY FOR ANY FUNERAL !!!! . Now looking
for a savings plan to cover minimal costs , around the 1200 euros. Paul.

We’ve just cancelled our Caser funeral insurance after many years. They couldn’t care less, no questions as to why we cancelled, just confirmation of the instruction.

It does seem to be fairly clearly stated in their terms and conditions - sections 4.1.1 and 4.1.2.

Yes it’s certainly transparent but we cancelled for different reasons.

Hi folks,

In general, you will always pay more through an average life with an insurance product as opposed to a prepaid plan.

The longer you live, the more an insurance based product costs and, like any insurance, there is no ''cash in'' value at any time and you are not paying into a savings plan either, so basically, it only pays out when you die for the fee of the cremation at that time irrespective of whether you have had the policy for a year or 30 years.

As a comparison, the cremation only plan that we offer can be taken with a 595€ deposit and 24 payments of 83.33€ and then it's all paid up and nothing further to pay and, under current terms, once your plan is fully paid, if you move back to the UK, you can surrender your cover and will receive 2000€ back so you can use that refund to go towards buying a new plan in the UK if you wish.

In addition, many mainstream funeral plan providers legally have to give you a refund if you cancel your cover with them, which, if the refund is more than 2595€ makes sense to do, so and then buy a new plan in full which in many cases will leave a nice chunk of cash left over (which one of our clients has recently used to go on a nice cruise!).

I do not recommend you do anything rash, but I do suggest investigating all of your options first and then make an educated decision as to how to proceed based on all the facts in front of you.

As always everyone, we are always happy to help and give you free advice at any time, just give us a call on 865 756 058 or go to our website http://www.thywill.es and complete the contact form and one of the team will call you to make an appointment to have a chat with me either face to face in our Benijofar office or over the phone whichever suits you best.

Have a lovely weekend all.

Kind regards

Paul
