Mobile Phone Info Required

Postby prefect » Sun Jan 21, 2024 10:52 am

Internet and mobiles in the Alicante are a mine field for new users.
My old mobile had a French Card which is now defunct.
Is it better to connect to our present internet system which has my
wifes mobile included or, to go independently with a new card.
If the 2nd option is used which is the best & cheapest firm to
fit a new card and use TIA

I personally found that Liberia pay as you go SIM cards fitted to you own phone work extremely well for me and, I can personally recommend the computer store on the Santiago de compositor just around the corner from th Aurora bar are helpful and competent .

Two Mobile SIM Cards(one international) unlimited calls, (well more than you will need for private use)
Plus 600 MB internet, average €40 per month from Vegafibre/Avatel.

I take it you mean Lebara? And the computer store (ODTELECOM) on Santiago de Compostela.

Isn't predictive text wonderful?

When choosing a provider the most important thing is to determine which of the 4 core networks in Spain give you adequate coverage at your home, they are, Orange, Vodafone, Movistar, and Yoigo, all others piggyback onto those.

Certain areas of Quesada are virtual dead spots for all of them so my advice would be to buy a prepaid SIM from each of them and try it them out.

Of course if your wife's phone works well then you can confidently go with the same operator she is using.

I have used Lebara SIM for years, pay as you go. I top up at computer shop near the arches every 28 days, €10 for 40GB data plus 500 mins calls to UK & Spain
