Postby Chrisdee » Sat Jan 27, 2024 6:54 pm

I have just got a digital certificate, thought that was how you could get a new padron and do other things, Im not sure. What is it for? Then you have the digital signature, what thats for? Can you explain the differences please?

Chris did you download it from the FNMT site and verify it? I presume to use it you have to do whatever transaction you require on the same computer as the software you downloaded onto your computer from FNMT. I deleted the rest of my post as it was how to apply and how to verify if anybody wants it I will post it again.

You dont need a digital signature for the padron but it is very helpful for a whole host of other govt agencies, DGT, INES, buying selling a car/house etc as you can give it to your gestoir and the can operate on your behalf...almost like a power of attorney (to a degree). Once you have downloaded, which must be onto a laptop or computer...not a mobile device, you can then copy and paste it onto your devices.

Hi Bee, Suma set it up and gave me the code which I had to verify on my laptop or desktop not phone or tablet. I did that and all OK but now I've got it dont know what you can do apart from see historical documents. I thought that was what was needed to get a Padron, do your taxes, add driving licence etc to the MiDGT thingy but obviously not. Do I need the digital signature for all that, and is that from the town hall or online?

If you go on to the Torrevieja Town Hall site and you want your Padrón you have to use your PIN/electronic signature to get a copy. It says it accepts a Cl@ve or Digital Cert. Have a go and see does the PIN you have let you in.

Not often but lately Ive been doing it every ,4-5 months
with things that have been happening in the family, always like to have a relatively up to date one. They are only valid for 3 months but most accept a slightly out of date one but you should renew it every 5 years to ensure your kept on the register.

You have to have a digital Cert. It won't let me past the link until I put in my digital signature which I don't have :( Oh and neither am I on the Padrón.

Also Darro on here is good with these Software issues.
