road markings

does anyone know if all these red road markings in benijofer and almoradi are legal ?
is this a national thing / experiment or local councils using nievity ?
it seems downright dangerous ,
what do the insurance companies think and what is their input ?

When you say ‘road markings’ do you mean the new cycle lanes?

I’ve only ever seen these central bike lanes in Benidorm. They seem to work quite well there but not sure how long they’ve been going.
Most cycle paths are badly designed in one way or another, the most obvious omission being lack of physical segregation from other road users.

When we were out the other night 2 drivers drove around the blocks outside Tommy's Bar , there is a no left turn there, all they had to do was go 50 yards upand round the roundabout by So Bar and come down again , not hard to understand, these drivers are the ones that will make it dangerous.

I'd have thought if we're forbidden to cross those white lines bordering the cycle lane then there would be a sign saying no left turn when coming out of the big car park?

We have been told that the cycle lane by Tommys be treated as a solid line...so no crossing ..it means either way you have to go to the rondabout by sol bar or by McDonalds & now Benimar 1 road is now 1 way..so means taking the first turning at roundabout to cut across to the main Benimar 1 road..Coming down is only way now?& yes a cycle lane has been done too

They’ve actually put physical obstacles (turtle shell blocks) to stop drivers making illegal left turns across the solid lines edging the cycle lane.
Clearly due to the vast distance involved in driving all the way (60 metres) to the roundabouts at either end, as Bertie & Gerty said, some drivers are driving round the obstacles.

When driving down from the Crematorium towards Benijofar, going around the island by the So bar there is often delivery lorries parked outside the bar and the Indian and Chinese restaurants, the only way past them is to drive down the centre of the cycle lane or wait half an hour for the driver to drop his load off, an accident waiting to happen.

There was a post by the n332 police site where they asked about these said they would release the new information about solid red lines very shortly
