This place is really good, even if you're not vegetarian/vegan

For clarity guys,
When it comes to ingesting (not wearing or using in any other way) animal products:
Vegetarian - will not eat anything that was once living and has been killed but will eat dairy products such as cheese/yoghurt/eggs etc;
Vegan - will eat nothing derived from any living animal;
Pescatarian - will eat fish but nothing derived from any land-based animal;
Lacto- ovo - Pescitarian - Will eat fish and dairy but no land-based animal meat.
I am for example in the last category.
I hope that helps a little when entertaining or socialising with friends and family who may fall into one of those categories
Kind regards
Paul

Thanks for the clarity Paul. I am always surprised that it is ok to kill fish and farm them but not animals. It seems a bit of a copout to me especially when I look at whale and dolphin hunting and mostly in the name of the fish oil supplement business.

Yeah I looked at the menu, there was dairy in the majority of their dishes. I thought vegetarians don’t eat any animal products.. hey I might be wrong..
They will do Vegan versions of all their dishes if requested

My heart goes out to you!! What a nightmare. I truly wouldn’t have a clue what to feed a vegetarian other than salads. My advice is to ask them to bring some plant based pre prepared food from
M&S. allow your guests the opportunity to do the cooking and look forward to some delicious meals. It’ll all work out fine, you’ll see.
Friends are friends so they’ll realise that you may need help. Take it. Thank goodness there’s no dairy or meat in a bottle of Vino!!

Sorry to burst your bubble Mac3blade, but the process of making vino uses finings, which can be; egg whites, blood, milk, isinglass (fish swim bladder)

Hi MacBlade -as Ovr3 explained Wine's are refined to give their clearer colours. Unless a wine is labelled as Vegan it will have undergone this process. Most commercially produced white wines use Isinglass, which is made from the swim bladder of a fish and a small reside is present although it is tasteless. Choosing to consume or not is a purely personal choice and no one should be judged either way.
