Just received my S1 from the UK, could anyone tell me where I can register this please - Quesada Salud, Rojales Salud or other ? Thanks for any help offered.

Neither it has to be registered with INSS (Torrevieja) first and then they give you a confirmation sheet to take to your salud. The confirmation tells you which salud to take it to and then they issue your SIP card.
You’ll need your passport, TIE and a padron issued within the last 3 months to register it with INSS. Trying to get an appointment is a nightmare so either do it on line or get a gestor to do it for you. For the amount they charge it’s not worth all the stress of doing it yourself. Cost is about 25-40€ .
I had to re register last year and it took 8 weeks for the S1 to be approved.
Remember to keep a copy of your S1 with your passport as you may need to show it if you require medical treatment if you visit the UK.

Yes, it was them I used last year- good to know the backlog (caused by the UK checking up on unused S1’s ) has been cleared. I applied in the middle of the chaos last October and had to wait till a couple of days before Christmas before my form was emailed back from the expat centre.

Is the expatcentre a public service for expats or is it a private company.

It's very easy to do it online. I did mine in January. I used the information from this link.
https://asociacionbabelia.org/en/health ... e-s1-form/
It is easy to follow, and costs you nothing!
Good luck!

I took my S1 to BUFETE PADILLA legal company at C/ Narciso Yepes, 12, La Siesta
http://www.spanishsolicitorsandlawyers.com

For 20€ they managed to register it with INSS. We had technical problems with the website, but they persevered where I had given up!

A couple of weeks later they emailed me the document proving my entitlement to join the Spanish NHS. The receptionist at my local Centro de Salud issued a new SIP there and then. I'd previously been in the system due to employment, so this may differ if you're new to the system.

Thanks Paul. I always feel it is unusual with so many GB/Irish expats that there is no publicly funded/volunteer office where people can drop in when they need help or advice. Maybe there is and I don't know about it.

I think Help Vega Baja provides this.

You pay 10€ year registration just to help with some overheads.

Used to be an office in Torrevieja but I think its San Miguel now, unless somebody knows differently.

Very helpful organisation run by Volunteers.
