Exchange uk licence to Spanish

Exchange uk licence to Spanish

Postby marionmort » Thu Mar 14, 2024 6:11 pm

I would be grateful if someone could clear up the process for exchanging UK licence to Spanish. I went to DGT Alicante on Tuesday morning expecting to be able to carry out the exchange but the security guard informed me that it is not possible, other than between 8.30am and 11.00am on two days a week. He then told me Monday, Wednesday and Friday? I was expecting to be seen at ANY time, as the website gives that information IF you're over 65???

Had you not made an appointment?
Life is never as simple as just turning up for anything in Spain.
Once you got your appointment, which is by no means easy, you then need your completed application form, proof of payment of the fee and details of your the medical report you’ve had for the exchange. You’ll also need your passport, TIE as well as your UK licence.

As with so many facets of life in Spain rules and procedures are suggestions constantly open to interpretation!

I concur with the previous posters, go through one of the many 'clinics' which offer the service. It will be good for your blood pressure!

Thanks for your responses. I had taken the Psicotecnico and took appropriate documentation, but as you say, found it impossible to book an appointment! I will take your advice and get someone to sort it for me. Any suggestions as to who I should use in Quesada?

Well done. I am an advocate of have a go yourself. You have all the paperwork done. I hope you are successful. Be sure and let us know if Elche is any friendlier than Alicante.
