Holiday Today ?

I have just got caught out by the fact that the shops are closed in Quesada. I thought that it must be a local holiday so I tried Mercadona which is just in Benijofar but that was closed also. I bought a Costa Blanca Calendar at the beginning of the year so I would know about the holidays but nothing is mentioned about today apart from it being San Jose day. I once went into Torrevieja to find that the shops were closed but our local shops were open.

San Jose day is Valencian Fathers day, hence why most shops are closed.

Super Canales is open, usually until 2pm. Up towards Jollys, and choice restaurant. Costa Azul.

I passed the shop on the way to Harry’s Bar and it’s all shut up, think that’s Super Canales, that was 9:30 this morning and I passed again at 11:00, still shut.

That's a first, in all the years I have lived here. Fernando told me he only shuts one day a year Christmas day, lol. I stand corrected. Will rib him about that next time I pop in.
