Query re Couriers

Hi All,

Please can anyone advise why the majority of posts selling on local forums and Facebook Marketplace say "no pick up by couriers"

I would like to buy some second hand iron type furniture, that can be left out on a roof terrace, all year round. But as I am a holiday home owner, I have no van or trailer here. Therefore I would have no other way of collecting furniture, other than hiring a "man with a van" or similar. Any thoughts or advice appreciated

The reason is most scammers say they will send a courier like DHL etc to collect and pay for wotever anyone is selling its just a scam. You can organise a man with a van to collect it for you as that isnt a dodgy scammer.
