Advice please with Shower

Advice please with Shower

Postby Angela17 » Fri May 10, 2019 6:24 am

Hi
We have recently had a gas boiler installed and until recently all has been good. However one of our showers now has an inconsistent water temperature, going from scalding hot to freezing cold (I think this is being caused by turning the water temperature down and the boiler knocks off). Our other shower is working perfectly fine so don't think it's a boiler issue.
Do you think it is something to do with the water pressure in that bathroom, or any ideas on how to resolve this please?

Possibly filter in the shower partially blocked also make sure cut off taps are fully open, could also be flow problem if you had boiler fitted in winter now water is warming up boiler will not need to work as much so can cause flow problems!

Could be the thermostat in the mixer part of the taps if it has one ..as other shower is working ok it dont sound like it is the boiler...ours did the same ...not worth trying to fix ..got new mixer tap works fine now ...ours is heated by a combie mains gas boiler...

Presumably the boiler was installed by a genuine gas certified plumber so he's the one you should be asking.

Tampering with it yourself can be very dangerous and could also void any warranty you have.

I believe its mandatory to have an anti scald mixer valve in new or replacement hot water systems and they can go wrong but unless you know what you're doing then you should not tamper with that either.
