Agua cost?

The prices and the bands vary according to which area you live in.
If you go to this site and choose your region and town then you should see the tarrifs that are applicable:
http://www.hidraqua.es/en/where-we-are

Presumably the tariffs are set locally based on water and sewerage supply costs in the area.

Pete.

I'm with Hidraqua too, and live in Quesada, so Rojales. This is my first full quarterly bill. The previous (interim) bill was only for 6 days, so everything was pro-rata'd which makes it even harder to fathom.

In those 6 days I used 10m3 (I know that's a lot but there was a hell of a lot of cleaning up and washing down to do). Despite using 10m3 they still charged me across all 3 bands, with the bulk of the usage charged in the highest band. Incidentally, the bands on the interim bill were different again- up to 21, up to 45 and over 45m3. It's all very confusing :-)

Then there is a leak somewhere, obviously. If you sign up to the water company online and give a mobile number and email address they can inform you if there is a sudden increase in usage which could point to a leak.
Obviously the best solution if you aren't there.

When leaving properties for any length of time it is always best to turn off the water from the street-side/ outside box to stop this happening.

Decided to pop into Hidraqua office in Rojales to check our bill, as we do this now and again just to keep up to check on it....a bit puzzled as in our last quarterly bill in June was

Consumo Bloque 1 27 units at 0.9085
Consumo Bloque 2 15 units at 1.2045

and the current estimated bill, which is only half way through the quarter

Consumo Bloque 1 10 units at 0.9085
Consumo Bloque 2 12 units at 1.2045
Consumo Bloque 3 2 units at 1.9752

So my question is, do they allow less units at the cheaper rate at this time of year or are their charges increasing because of summer rates?

You cannot do that though if you have a watering system for your garden.
Some insurance companies cover you for excessive use of water so the person should check with their insurance policy or their broker or insurance company. Typically the cover is for €1000 per annum.

The invoice is normal. The town hall charge thru hidraqua with different prices according how many water you use. The firsts thousand (each meter cubic equal 1.000 liters) are more unexpensives, and the prices goes up and up.

They charge small money for "normal" use, if you use a lot you pay extra. It is the way to push people to use this limited resource better.
