"Ģas" or "No Gas" - that is the question

Hi for gas installation get Gas Natural to do the gas to metre but do not get them to do the central heating! Trust me the boiler they offer is inefficient the pipework is not the best and method of installation although they don't do a bad job (not being totally critical could be better) I know someone who can do a fantastic installation that is more efficient I will post details later as I don't have to hand now. ;)

Hi the Gas fitter that did our central heating installation can be contacted on the email address below exceptionally neat good price and best components used I could not fault him. a far better system than Gas Natural would fit, just the type of pipe used would make considerable savings let alone the way it is plumbed in.

Hope this helps

We have just had our central heating this June. The man (Ramon) who did all the installation on his own was fantastic. He had 3-4 days under our house which is full of rubble. All our pipes are under the house and where they come up through the floor are done very neatly. Our gas supply is with Fenosa and it was with Anna (Gas Natural) whom we signed up with. We did not pay any money up front. Hope this helps!!!

Hi did they fit a condensing boiler or standard which is what they tried to get everyone around us to have? Did they use copper pipe or plastic laminated with aluminium and insulated. By the way even Spain have now outlawed standard boilers but it seems that Gas Natural still condone fitting them! presumably because they use more gas, insist on a condensing boiler whoever you get to fit it. ;) the guy getting people near us to sign up was called Raul and slapped a few backsides in the process. Be carful ;)

Before making any decision about condensing or non-condensing boilers, here is an article I found whilst researching
the subject ready for our gas installation.

Hi Jordy You pay you money you make you choice all I can say is I worked with these when I had my solar business and the savings were vast yes in the UK they have problems with the cold freezing the condensate! I don't think that will happen here. I used to employ the best gas fitters an not one would have said anything against them except in the very early days they have been well tested and like any product you have to assess what you are being offered unfortunately people take it that someone like GN come along and accept them as experts they just want to sell vast amounts of gas at any cots BIG business I absolutely stand by what I say. and anyone with a standard boiler on the same tariff will pay a lot more in gas units. ;) It is also the way the installation is done and materials used that matter this is a fact.

Wasn't arguing the point scubydoo, just showing the other side of the coin that like I said, I found whilst
researching for myself.
Lived in the UK long enough to learn they have knee-jerk reactions to most things.
Solar panels are the latest 'must haves' over there only to find out they will withdraw the subsidy & tax you
on your fuel savings, or some-such. One of the reasons I moved here.
As I said though...there is more than one school of thought on the boilers. I haven't decided yet.
