Electricity ?
Electricity ?
by JohnES » Thu Apr 13, 2023 6:29 pm
I received a phone call this evening from someone using a mobile phone who new my name and address. He was speaking in Spanish so I did not understand most of it but he did say that it was about my electricity and it is important. I wondered if other people had received calls and know what it is about . It could be that he was trying to sell me solar Panels. I doubt that it was from Iberdrola as they do not supply my electricity.

All these type of calls are so annoying especially if you don't understand what they're going on about, it worries you sometimes incase youre missing something important.

I've lost count of the number of unsolicited calls I get. Now I just stick them on block and it's a lot more peaceful. No genuine company would cold call you like that.

If so, how can I do it please.
I know how to on a mobile

You can get one of these Call Blocker
That one seems a bit expensive but there may be cheaper ones around.

Might help if some people try and learn some of the basic language they have been living in ?

Really? Have you even heard the speed some of these rattle off on? Basic language. fine, but the rate they go off at would tax the mind of a super interpreter sometimes. Especially with the many variations around (Valencia regional government already trying to get Catalan as the accepted language).
Not such as easy as just coming out with flippant remarks.

I have recently read about a website where you can register to stop people cold calling you. The website is www.listarobinson.es and you need to register and then add your requirements such as blocking e-mails and phone calls. You do not need to add the telephone numbers of the callers but enter your e-mail address and telephone number. The theory is that these companies are obliged to consult this list to prevent them calling or sending you an e-mail. Time will tell whether it works or not.

I have heard of them too, and went on their website. It looks okay, but I was rather reluctant to enter the details they wanted without knowing of any organisation that can vouch for them.
The name seems rather strange for a service like that!
Has anybody on here researched them?
