Has anyone signed up for gas to be installed free of charge?

Hi
I do understand that if you live there it can get a bit chillie but as far as gas goes you will be paying for 2 standing charges, where if you get a good solar tank and good inverter hot/cold that will save you money in time.
Dont forget you should get your boiler serviced every year.

PS why would you want to use gas when you have that big orange thing in the sky.

Pure luxury bill I want to be warm all year round and if I have to pay a verry small stading charge for that no problemo. However if your villa can take a panel then I agree with solar all day long I used to fit solar systems that powered under floor heating but you could only realy do that on a newbuild in Spain.

You are not alone being negative. That is why dragons are extinct!
Move on and enjoy life to the full or it will be too late!! Trust me life is not a dress rehearsal and there are no replays! Grab it with both hands and make the most of it whilst you can as no one knows what is round the corner!

Eight euros a month is nearly twice as much as I'm paying. Also, if the price rockets I have the right to have the gas disconnected, the meter removed & then can go back to bottled gas, electric, etc. I had an nice, clean tidy install &
am warm plus cooking on gas. No problems. I have also been offered a service contract for about 9 euros a month. I was paying British Gas about £35 a month for the same thing in the UK. Each to their own.

I was asked to get involved by my community, Dona Pepa, and had a couple of meetings with the provider.
I was disappointed with the lack of knowledge that the sales lady had with the installation of gas distribution. Having worked all of my life in the construction industry, gas in the UK is governed by fully trained installers. This did not appear to be the case with the Spanish supplier.
Because our community was an existing structure, their proposed installation methods were crude and did not take into consideration protection of the gas pipes against accidental damage. The routing of the pipes were to be taken the simplest route possible without due concern for protection and security. They were unsure of the free air space required for the boiler outlet flue and in some instances would propose an external flue routed to atmosphere, which was unsightly and acceptable.
I also visited several completed installations and found the re-instatement of roads & pavements was totally unacceptable.
In my opinion, gas in Spain requires regulation, similar to the UK to provide a safe working environment.

We had the 'free installation offer' in November. After a few hiccups with the original installation which was largely down to a mis-communication problem partly our fault as we don't speak good Spanish the gas people sorted everything OK & we now have gas for cooking + a separate junction for when/if we ever want radiators/boiler fitted so are happy customers.

We had ours fitted in June 2015. The gas fitter was excellent especially under the conditions he had to work!!! Would thoroughly it. Constant hot water and a cosy home!!
