My Wife works for a gas installation company 10 hours a day knocking on doors with some no brainier offers for having gas. Oh she earns around €600 a month which isn't a fortune but a job is a job as they say.

Why all the moaners about gas either take the offer and it seems a good deal or stay with electric and bottled gas everyone has a choice.

Yes Gas might go up in price and yes if there is an earthquake there might be a leak but that is why pipes are installed above ground so that the whole house doesn't get destroyed.

As soon as my urb has gas installed I will sign up for it the next day.

The offers available now free installation and free boiler are being phased out as more people sign up so in about 12 to 18 months if you want it then you will have to pay for the privilege but this all depends on when they meet the quote.

Installation is about €1,300 but this is currently paid for via a government grant.

We did but wished we hadn't Sima offered the deal and Danny was easy to contact, that was in April 2015, the installation is still incomplete and Danny the salesman is no longer interested and the ignorant sod won't even return our calls, so we have been left with an office that only speaks English when they are after money.
They had the front to send a letter threatening legal action when we have no gas appliances as they still haven't installed the free water heater and the system hasn't been commissioned.
They also sub out the install to some ignorant unskilled baboon who's tool kit consists of a hammer, I wouldn't trust him to change a light bulb, he installed a vent into my house, the boiler is being mounted externally under my stairs so he wants to let the carbon monoxide in, they are a joke avoid them

Hi, I have signed up for gas with a lady called Anna, she explained when we did that it maybe a while before we got it as there needed to be a certain amount of people interested before they could go ahead. We have now had the gas pipe work fitted from the outside wall to the next to gas boiler(existing one ) in garage. This was done with no problems and pipes where put where we had asked (out the way) the fitter was very good.only got charged €26 for extra pipe to protect gas pipe as went underground for a bit, all of which we were told before hand. Anna has been round a few times (without us calling her) to let us know what is going on (when the pipe work will be laid in road ect) so far things have gone ok and no complaints. With luck and no objection they should be starting to the roadworks 17th Jan.

We signed up last January 2015) knowing that we would have to wait for some time before it would be installed. After some initial problems with installation from the road to our property, during which time communication between us and the gas company were excellent, we have no problems whatsoever. Our bills are ridiculously low even with the standing charges - we have no regrets!
