Where is the best Ibedrola to go please (speaking English) to sort out our Electricity bills. Received our latest bill today for 24th November to 27th December (away for one week in that period and it’s a whopping €280 euros!

Water is expensive? My quarterly bill for water, included the charge for rubbish collection, is now about €70 or about £60 with the pathetic rate of the pound and that works at at €280 a year or £247.
In UK I was paying £32 a month (for 10 months) and that was 7 years ago. Average water bill in UK is now approaching 400 quid a year so, unless you are talking of swimming pools and so on (imagine how much that would be in UK if you had a swimming pool) then I find that quite reasonable.
Electricity is cheaper here than UK, BUT, you only pay 5% VAT on it UK whereas here it is 21% so that pushes the prices up.
My dual fuel bill in UK, again 7 years ago, was about £800 a year and, apparently, the average is now £1300 a year.
So my approx €80 a month (960 a year or about £850) seems good value for money.
Yes, your electric bill here may seem high but how much do you pay in UK for gas which is what most of the money goes on.
Of course, my €242 annual council tax is about what I was paying per month in UK (the fact the pound keeps falling makes things seem more expensive to us as we automatically convert it. To other EU expats they think it is very cheap as they don't have to do conversions).

i live in Los Altos and we have a Iberdrola near to Zenia Boulevard so i went there. the girls spoke English and we did the deal
Unfortunately after 5 days nothing came about from it ,so i went online and swapped tariffs that way
only thing to remember is that in Spain usually they have 2 surnames so when it comes to fill in the name box you have to put a .in the 1st surname box
hope this helps

Either go into the office in Guardamar which is just off the second roundabout on the right, go into Torrevieja office which is just up from the big church in the centre or do it online.
