How to reconnect water and electricity in Spain?

How to reconnect water and electricity in Spain?

Postby dbarker1961 » Sun May 31, 2015 10:59 am

Hi all,

I have recently agreed a long term let on a property in Murcia.

The water & electricity have been disconnected (at the owner's request) as the property has been empty for some time.

How do I go about reconnecting these utilities?

Many thanks

Regards

Dave

I would think it was the owner or agent's responsibility to get the place in order for you to live in.
They are getting the money from the rental and a place can't be lived in without utilities.
I would definitely get the owner or agent to connect the utilities before you move in.

Oh I understand.

If they are Iberdrola and Hydraqua you are best to contact them and ask them to re-connect - It does cost but you probably know that :

Hidraqua - water company
Website: http://www.hidraqua.es/en/

Customer service telephone number: 902 250 270

Iberdrola - electricity company
Telephone number : 00 34 916 49 63 30

Website : http://www.iberdrola.es/home/

Hope this helps,

Jan

Hi you will have to sign an agreement and as you are not the property owner I am not sure you can do this!! someone may know more, don't hold your breath waiting for connection they can take an age even if you can sign the agreements.
