Iberdrola con - watch out for this

Iberdrola con - watch out for this

Postby LizzyW56 » Mon Mar 22, 2021 9:57 am

I recently spoke to a man at an Iberdrola stand in Leroy Merlin about the advertised discount of 20% being offered. I do speak Spanish so nothing was lost in translation.
He spoke to "the boss" on the phone and confirmed a 20% discount on my bill and even wrote on the one I had taken with me "-20% dto".
When I received the next bill I found the following:
  • the price of the "Energy Invoiced" had been put up to the price for new customers which amounted to an increase of 15%
  • the price of the "Capacity Invoiced" had been put up to the price for new customers which amounted to an increase of 13%
  • the discount is ONLY applied to the the "Energy invoiced"
  • Home Electrical Protection had been added
So I have worked out that, by calculating my new bill on my old rates, that my discount actually amounts to a surcharge.

Just be careful. I feel I have been misled and I am in contact with Iberdrola about this.

Dishonest corporate con merchants Lizzy, just like the Spanish banks. Tell them you hadn’t asked for the useless home electrical protection and want it ceased and they will reduce your so called discount pro rata. Complain and they will bamboozle with more promises - which never materialise - to get you off their backs. Just as we were, you’ve been legally conned and there is seemingly little you can do about it without a great deal of stress.

Lizzy we had this happen to us but in Aki..totally dishonest & we ended up in the Iberdrola office & demanded that a complaint was made..they did however put us on a rate we was happy with but lost the day/ night tariff.People should be very aware of these agents..they don't seem to be what they say

They have to get their commission from somewhere
Should always go direct to Iberdrola to get the best deal

Sorry but when you posted about the offer i did advise you that those people don't actually work for Iberdrola & to check everything carefully. Your best bet is to go into the Iberdrola office & ask to either go back on your original tariff or change to something more suitable, you can also have the home electrical protection removed from future bills.
Hope this helps,
Dave.

Best bet is to change to Energy Nordic. All in English and email breakdown of your bill each month. They buy electricity daily at the cheapest rate available. Easy to move suppliers.. they do it all for you.

Ps day and night tariffs also available.

Tired of Iberdrola - contact www.sicompare.com (comparison site)

Competitive rates appropriate to your needs elsewhere

Look at : Fortuluz and Holaluz

Now I am feeling really peeved. Having complained to Iberdrola who gave me a commitment to resolve within 30 days I am going to present a complaint to the arbitration council. I know this may not achieve anything, but it will be good for my soul. Does anyone know specifically to whom I should be sending this complaint.
