Iberdrola cups number advice

Hi everyone,
After purchasing a house in Rojales last October, we are still having problems with Iberdrola.
To be fair, the original problem was caused (I think) by our Spanish lawyer transferring the original
Contract not from the seller but our neighbors. This resulted in us paying our neighbors bills etc and
Ourselves getting cut of after 3 months. This has gone on and on with our neighbors nearly getting cut off and we are now in the position that we both have contracts with the wrong meter numbers on and Iberdrola have been extremely slow in correcting the ongoing mistakes.

Last week I visited the Spanish lawyer to nail down who was responsible for the cock ups.
The outcome was that she was correct and the cups number for the properties had been wrong for the last 18 years!!!!. She claimed that the cups numbers are like car registrations and given out by Iberdrola upon the property construction.

Can anyone in the forum advise if this is true?.

It's not all bad. We have just had a nice holiday in Rojales. Just need solve this problem.
