our meter is outside on the street also but we have received estimated bills, we have been charged 70+ euros even though we have not been there and the power switched off!
normally on the bill you can see if it is estimated or not, i dont get to see mine until i check my mailbox when i come out.
i will definately be looking at the dual tarriff billing next time i am out in april, i think you need to have the meter changed to a digital type though?

If you email them with your customer number, through the website you should be able to go on-line each time and see your bills. They will then, in future, send you an email to say how much the bill is each time and you can then go on-line to check it.

We did this because of the same problem of not seeing the bills until we got to Spain. The only thing is you will only see future bills when you set it up, not any bills that were issued before the on-line set up.

I will check but don't think we have ever had an estimated bill - I thought that was what outside meters were for?? Our bills, when not in Spain seem to be quite high(ish) considering we are not there but the standing charges are high out there. I will try to look on-line to see what the last one we had was, when I get time.

I personally wouldn't want to pay a monthly charge in Spain.
