Just had a cold call from Iberdrola offering 12% discount on new bills, as Iberdrola say they never cold call could this be a scam or is genuine?

Iber did this once before. When we compared the price details we found it cost us more. We cancelled the discount option and reverted to the "Peak and Off Peak" tariff we had. Iber may have changed!!! Be vary.

The discount they offer is if you accept their electrical appliance guarantee, though they do not highlight this at the time. So this is why it costs a bit more than the off peak tarrif, but is offset by the guarantee.
It really depends if you feel you need insurance cover as well.

Maybe so. But the discount only applies to the electricity used and not the whole bill. Your account is transferred to a sister company under the Ibredrola umbrella.
