Hi All,
Just need some opinions and maybe some advice on the latest iberdrola electicity situation.
I was put on the three tier system in June 2021, over the months the bills have got higher and higher, the September bill for August was 324€ for using 853kwh, I assume having the aircon on most days didnt help.
That works out at approx .38cents a kwh.
Surely there is a cheaper option, for example I have been told of a system called 'Stable plan' that uses the same cost 24/7 and costs .17 cents kwh.
Anybody any thoughts please or recommendations.

Yes, there are plans with Iberdrola. Regulated rate with a day/night option or choose 8 cheap hours etc.
Anyone taking out a new plan from April 26th will pay a premium from July to cover the losses of the gas price caps.

You need to go to Iberdrola, as stated on here many times, at either Guardamar or the one in Rojales.
They will tell you the best options but you won't get the same rates as Terry the Gardener has shown unless they count you as a subsidised customer from before April 26th.

Definitely need to go and talk to them as virtually everybody who posts is on a different scheme or, even if on the same scheme, is paying different rates.

We were hit with the gas price cap fee even though we had changed nothing in our plan from when we moved in last year - studying the bill over the months it was incredibly difficult to understand , I thought we were on some kind of plan ' plan compromiso' it was called ( This was what was set up for us when we moved in ) and there were ' peak times' and 'off peak' times. The kw/hr rate didn't seem too bad and was keeping tabs on it.

But suddenly in July - we had changed nothing in our 'plan' - but just got hit with the extra 'tope precio de gas' out of the blue anyway ( a significant amount , none of this '"approx 30 euro extra per household" malarkey, much, much more than that - it is an extra 0.1569 per kw/hr on TOP of a rocketing kw/hr price - in August the kw/hr price more than doubled as well so we were ultimately paying between 50c and 54 c per KW/hr. for August ( which is of course when power use is also highest, what with the aircon.)

Given that we had been hit with the tope precio de gas anyway I have changed it now to a Plan Noche to try to improve this. At least I know for sure now which are the peak and offpeak hours. Did this online. Initial monitoring suggests that I'll be reducing the total bill back by possibly as much as 40% . I really don't understand the reasoning behind the 'Tope precio de gas' and why some have to pay it and others don't.

It is what it is, but at least glad that I was monitoring the situation and caught this before being subjected to another month of hyper high prices .

She said she couldn’t match the rate i got online. There are about eight different plans but they will advise what suits you best from your usage. I was lucky also when i did my contract last year i have it until 2026.

Relatively new to all of this,our electricity bills seemed a little high considering we are only out here every 6-7 weeks for a week or so, we contacted Iberdrola and a very helpful chappy informed me that we are on a tariff of 31cents per therm,there is however a much cheaper tariff of 17 cents, BUT! You have to have the dual tariff of electricity and gas?! But we don’t have gas I said! He informed me that this is a normal dual tariff and if I wanted to change it’s not a problem but the gas price per therm could go up to 20,30 or even higher per therm, that’s the chance you take by lowering your electricity per therm, he did tell me though that next May Iberdrola are stopping this dual tariff and electricity prices per therm would be much better, no crystal ball here but I’m looking forward to next May!!

I changed to Iberdrola on line with their 8 hour plan and kept an eye on their app and the amount I was supposedly using but when the bill came it was 95 euros more than the app said it would be with this gas con that they don't have to tell you about apparently. So just changed back to my old company, at least they were a bit cheaper and honest with future bill predictions

Last year we changed from the night/day plan to the 8 hour plan after reading a lot about it from forum users. We live in a 80 M2 bungalow and both retired so in most of the day. Out last three bills were €42.00, €46.00, €51.00 so really pleased with that but saying that we do have bottled gas for our hot water and a gas hob.

Yes, it's all clear as mud, isn't it? We don't have gas either. The chap may mean if you change you would be hit with the 'Tope precio de gas' if you changed ( on top of your electric bill rate. ) It appears to be nothing to do with whether you have gas or not, it's a government surcharge to do with with the general energy crisis and electricity generated by gas, or something. But not everyone has to pay it, for some unfathomable reason. But the iberdrola chap certainly must have a crystal ball if he can confidently say it is stopping next May. Or maybe he meant something else entirely. And was talking about something else entirely. Just seems a bit of a lottery as to what you get charged.

Just got August bill. Iberdrola.

1017kWh used. The gas charge was an additional €178.83 on top of the bill......I have never felt such rage in my life. What is the point of a fixed term contract if this crap can be added on top.
