We are with Iberswitch, and to date they have saved us money and have been helpful. They do need a bit of a nudge, but get there in the end.
Their split tariff is from 11 p.m. to 1 p.m. (14 hrs) for cheap rate, which works well, and once sorted out to what we were doing, our bill is 30%-40% less

I am going over to a dual tariff system ... when they get around to changing it! ... and am hoping for some savings as I use the bedroom AC all night in the hotter months, and my washing in the mornings.
I guess I'll need to spend the afternoons and early evenings in someone else's premises (e.g. the local bar!) so I can use their electricity!
I am not sure if there is a significant saving in turning off the water heating(with a time switch), and then having to heat it up again, versus letting the thermostat switch it on/off to maintain a steady temp
It's similar dilemma with how low/high to set the 'stat in order to minimise wasting power, while having water which is hot enough.

Hello Ozzy,
I found the website : http://www.iberswitch.com/. Did you do it all online? Also is it as easy as switching providers in the UK, in that you just tell them and it's all done for you?
Jan.

I have recently been 'Iberswitched' to a dual tariff with a company called 'something Verde' ... i forget the first part.
I was previously with CESL, on fullrate ... didn't notice a huge saving on previous (Iberdrola), but everyone has been raising prices, anyway, and I don't do careful usage comparisons
I have now put my 'water otter' on a timer and try to spend the afternoons using other people's AC, e.g.in the local bars It's nice to think my night-time AC usage will be less expensive, as I cannot do without it in the Summer.
I'll be interested to see how I go when the cooler weather arrives, and I have to use some heating (when the bars are closed!).
Hardest thing to remember, IMO, will be not to use kettles and hobs in the afternoons/evenings ... I do like my cuppa.
By the way, Iberswitch have never taken more than about €4/month from my bank.

We're saving considerable amounts with the dual meter with Iberswitch.....our bi-monthly bill has reduced from around 160-189€ on standard tariff to around 90€ on dual meter. It does take a bit of habit-changing to do things earlier in the day (not a lot of good if you stay in bed till noon and then go straight out for a few G & T's).
On the winter heating front, Iberswitch are advertising electric room heaters which cost 24 cents a day to run, so will be checking those.

I am with Iberdrola and we have the two different rates. In the summer from 11pm to 1pm the following day is cheap rate then the rest is the normal rate which is more expensive. I do all my washing, dishwashing etc before 1pm our pool pump comes on early morning goes off before 1pm. We have noticed a slight difference but our bills are still expensive.
