Refilling a swimming pool

Refilling a swimming pool

Postby shepgrove » Mon Apr 29, 2019 8:12 am

Our pool has had to be drained for repairs and regrouting. Can I refill the pool from the mains? Someone told me that this was illegal in Spain so want advice, if I need a water tanker how do I arrange this? If I can use the mains do I need to inform Hydraqua as obviously the next water bill will be a lot higher! Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

It is perfectly OK to fill the pool using the mains water, it will take a few days. If you can use a hosepipe as well as the pool pump filler tap, this will almost half the time taken to fill. The water pressure in the house will drop though. Depending on the size of your pool it will cost the thick end of 100 euros to fill it.

i would think again...an 8 x4 pool at 1.5m deep will hold about 65,000 litres coupled with domestic consumption about 250e, plus a letter from the water company asking if you want them to check for a leak

We had the same fear. I went to the water board and asked and was told yes you can fill it up from the mains. Can't remember exactly but think it was about 100 euros to fill it up or under 100

All depends on size of pool firstly! Better to fill from mains or you could end up with agricultural water! Cost could be over 200 euros but it has to be done so just do it! do not leave it empty for long or it may need re doing!!

We have a small pool in a property we rent out so there was no one living there, pool 6 by 3 but 2 meters deep, cost to refill after regrouting was 40 euros.
