Smart Meter Reading

Smart Meter Reading

Postby Elpando » Thu Nov 08, 2018 3:33 am

We have a Smart meter and last month Iberdrola put us on to the Night and Day tariff. We had our first bill this week albeit for only 12 days. It itemised the usage during the cheaper and the dearer times of the day. As we have not been at the house since the change over and can't see the meter just now, can anyone tell us how you can tell yourself how many units on each that we are using? Does the smart meter actually show you the two different usages or is this something that Iberdrola do remotely only. Obviously I am keen to see it for myself and that way I can make sure nothing funny is going on Anyone read their own smart meter on a dual tariff at all?

Hi Elpando

If you log on to Iberdrola's website you should be able to see everything that you have mentioned, smart meters show all your usage and you can drill this right down to the hour by hour usage, once logged on click my smart consumption and then evolution tab and then click on the individual bars to break the information down.

You are very welcome Elpando, I find it really useful.
I am non resident too.
My house insurance states that I should have the property visited on a regular basis, I have someone go into the property each week and switch the electric on for the duration of the visit and also run the water etc.
If I had any reason to claim on my insurance I suspect that they could start to wriggle by asking how long the property has been unoccupied, the smart meter graphs could be printed off as proof of the weekly visits.
Of course not all insurance companies would operate in this way but I would rather have my back covered in the first place lol.

Hi
I have just logged in too, there may be a problem with their website at the moment because when you click on the my smart consumption tab, evolution is in the drop downs but at the moment the drop down list is just a blank white box.
However, evolution should be at the top of the box and if you touch that area it finds the evolution page.
Once in this area you should be able to go back to previous graphs but this tab is missing at the moment too.
I have emailed Iberdrola to ask what the problem may be.
