Smart meter refusal
Re: Smart meter refusal

Of course it's been researched. Usually by the conspiracy theorists.
Firstly, mobile phones do not emit microwave energy, they emit radio frequency waves which do not alter DNA that causes cancer. RF is a non-ionizing frequency.
Look up any reputable health site, like cancer.gov, and they'll all tell you the same thing.

I worked in the IT sector for many years, and it was my business to understand the benefits and potential risks of the technologies we used - so I have researched the subject, extensively, thank you very much.
There are often conflicting reports on the potential safety implications of various technologies, with manufacturers at one end of the scale and the tinfoil hat brigade at the other. Personally, I choose to trust research done by independent bodies in a scientific and controlled way - which is why I choose not to wear a tinfoil hat myself. So far, the absence of a tinfoil hat doesn't appear to have prevented me from thinking or learning. As far as ignorance is concerned, I'm certainly not ignorant of the facts surrounding the technologies you seem to fear so much.

Marcliff thanks for correcting me regarding the RF waves phones use. I got mixed up at the time of writing. However, when that phone connects to wifi, is that not then emitting microwaves?
Pete. It is my opinion that regardless of MW or RF radiation, in the levels we are now being exposed to, they are a danger to health and are the cause of some known and unknown side effects. I believe people should be prudent in looking into the matter themselves and forming their own opinions, not necessarily allowing themselves to be influenced by government or independent bodies. Read what you can read, speak to who you can speak to, add a little logic and common sense and make your own decision. You seems to have made yours and i have made mine. Simple really. Not much more to add or discuss.

Hmmmmmmm
Who said companies save money,,,,,, NO, their profits increase and for poor meter reading person who lost their job is now down the second hand market selling bin raid items,,,
Thinking about IT,,, maybe they could get another job cleaning the mess they leave behind after the bin raid !
Smart meters are a good thing, especially in the uk as it keeps the fire brigade on their toes !!!
(Not funny, sorry,,,, the man from the Whirlpool tumble driers dept said so !!!)
Have a nice day in your Faraday Cage )
kind regards
lucy

Maybe the old meter reader could re-train as a faraday cage installer?
What a excellent idea.

ELECTRIC PYLONS, builders/developers advised not to build directly under them, sub stations are now positioned further away from residential properties, and that's just normal electric power, and that was over 50years ago,
