by ozzysteeve » Wed Feb 24, 2016 1:57 pm
Hi all, as a new home owner in Dona Pepa im still trying to get my head around the billing system like most people. Looking at my Elec bill there are 2 things im hoping someone out there can clear up for me.
CONTRACT TYPE: VPSC without time-of-day rates
METER TYPE: with no smart meter effectively integrated in the remote management system
Any help as always appreciated.
Regards Steeve

Strangely enough we sat pondering over ours too last night!!!
Must be a better rate/tariff we think
Wonder if the estate agents and solicitors get a rake off the rate you get put on?

They are a bit long winded, but here is our last bill with the explanations for those people who don´t already understand their bill. We cook electric but have a log burner for heating and a gas boiler for water. We do use aircon for heating in the morning and we do have a tumble dryer for towels and when the weather is poor for drying.
22 January 2016 – 13 February 2016 (22 days but we get a bill every month)
Readings Peak 13 Feb 6121 22 Jan 6023 = 98
Cheap 8559 8344 = 215
Potencia facturada 5.75kw x 22 días 0.116351 €/kw día 14,72 €
This is the standing charge depending on what your maximum potencia is, ours is 5.75Kw so if we have appliances on that add up to more, the electricity trips off.
Energia facturada P 98 kwh 0.14226 €/kwh 13.94 €
V 215 kwh 0.059142 €/kwh 12.72 €
Total 313 kwh hasta 13/02/2016 26.66 €
P = Peak rate winter 12 pm to 10 pm and summer 1pm to 11 pm (10 hours)
V = Cheap rate winter 10 pm to 12 pm next day and summer 11pm to 1 pm next day (14 hours)
Discuento sobre consumo 10% 10% x 26.66 € 2.67 €
Current offer, only had it a few months
Impuesto sobre electricidad 5.11269632% s/38.71 € 1.98 €
Electricity tax, very precise rate!! 38.71 made up of 14.72 + 26.66 – 2.67
Total energia 40.69 € (38.71 + 1.98)
Servicios y otros conceptos
Alquilar equipos medida (meter rental) 22 días x 0.0265567 €/día 0.58 €
Servicio urgencias eléctricas 1 mes x 1.97 €/mes 1.97 €
(Monthly provision of emergency services)
Total 2.55 €
Importe Total (grand total) 43.24 €
(40.69 + 2.55)
IVA (VAT) 10% s/43.24 9.08 €
Total importa factura (total invoice charge) 52 32 €
I hope that this helps

Thank you for your comprehensive explanation of Iberdola bills. I checked mine and found another cost under Servicios y otros conceptos - Total Energy Protecion ElectricHogar at 5.93 euros per month. Can you shed any light on this please?
Thanks
Liz

it is electric appliance insurance....it was offered as part of dual rate billing and other special deals... free for the first 3 months unless you cancelled it in writing... ( not always made clear or lost in translation ) you are then stuck with it for the year...check the start date of the deductions then do a letter of cancellation giving at least 4 months notice for next year
