Hi Roxygirl01,
Get your mixer tap checked our first. We went to the expense of getting a new boiler only to find it had not cured the problem. We replaced the mixer tap on the shower and all was ok after that! The water seems to be very hard in this area and limes ale buildup is a problem!

Your diaphragm has gone or your scaled up,usually the diaphragm though, these distort over time, there's a guy called Bob who gets recommended on here quite a bit,I think he's ex Brit gas engineer, it's a fairly simple job if you can get parts

We have similar problem although our boiler is electric, the water never seems to get
Red hot, we never need to use any cold to mix even when over in December. this seems worse in the shower upstairs, also the water in the shower tap does not come out very fast, but is ok once we switch the tap to shower . the boiler was fitted five years ago.
Husband reckons perhaps need a new mixer tap but says all the tiles will have to come off.

Thanks black velvet. We has exactly the same problem when we were out over Christmas. Is it a winter thing I wonder. A full tank old did one bath full and was soon cold. Have been out to lo crispin all of the seasons and it's never happened before.
Yes I will admit 9 days without a bath !!

Hi it will take a lot longer in winter to warm up as the water so much colder going into the tank, but no reason if it is left long enough that it should not get to the same temperature that it does in the summer, unless you have a thermostatic valve fitted that introduces cold water to regulate the output temperature the this may need turning up to compensate.
