Yes. It's a good idea in case of leaks.

Those who don't probably have auto watering system set up, but IMO that's a waste of water. If plants are chosen to suit the Spanish climate then there's no need for watering. Certain Spanish plants store water when it rains and can survive the hottest Summers.

Problem is if you’re away for a while and the water is off the water seals in the toilet, sink etc can dry out this allows smells, cockroaches etc to come up the drains. Best to have someone check it fortnightly if not weekly while your away. Also gives a bit of security. Best to have a key holder
