Hi

I've heard rumors that Consum are trying to establish themselves in Pueblo Bravo, someone who can confirm this?

We have heard the same from our builders. Apparently Consum have a site next to the last roundabout on Lemon Tree Road before El Raso. Rob

No sign of any building there yet. Could be a year - or two - or three........ Rob

Seems strange to want to build so close to their very successful outlet in Quesada area. UNLESS the rent in Quesada is crippling them!

I think that Consum own the site in Lo Marabu, Dona Pepa, Quesada, as far as I heard, and they take rent from the WOK, Chinese outlet, Vets etc.

If it's true about the land at the Lemon Tree road, It's sounds like they are taking advantage of an opportunity that could pay off. That area which includes Pueblo Bravo, Lo Pepin, La Fiesta and El Raso is a 'food desert', as the big supermarkets including Lo Marabu Consum are not within easy reach without a car and even with a car it will be much easier for the residents around the Lemon Tree Road. Also the new house developments are still being built along this part of the Lemon Tree road as well, so opportunity abounds!

Saying all that there have been 'promises' before of other shops/supermarkets around these areas and nothing came of it. Lets hope this one does actually materialise!

Wish there was a shop or two in the Recoral area. Given the hilly terrain it would be great to be able to walk to a shop. The nearest is Supa Valu down a caved in road (I assume the road beneath cardiac hill has not been repaired). I'm sure some of the earlier Quesada maps showed a commercial area here. That said, not complaining, we are lucky to have so many nice supermarkets now. Many on this forum will remember when there where only the two Gamas.

You're correct in your assumption about the caved in road; not repaired or likely to be. The commercial area was shown to the right of where that road starts, where the big stones are, although there is very little flat ground there; we always wondered how they would build on it. All the roads, Av del Teide/Sierra de Pedriza/Sierra de Ancares are still not "adopted" by the Town Hall, hence no (or very sparse) lighting/decent road surfaces. Yet we still pay full Suma.

A while back I looked at one of Activa’s €400K plus villas being built. One selling point was the view of the lake. Well, if a supermarket is built, that view will be obliterated.

Should be ok if it’s s single story consum rather than Villas
