Hiya.

I love using Listerine but most shops in Spain sell for near €5 for a 250ml bottle (which is near double the price of what you can buy for in the UK when it's on offer at the supermarkets there). Listerine never ever seems to be on "special offer" over here.

Can anyone recommend a good local alternative mouthwash at a reasonable price? I enjoy the strong taste with Listerine and the brands I've tried here in Spain aren't as strong or as effective (personal opinion).

Mercadonna do their own brand for 1.25 euros.

Carrefour do their own whitening brand for 1.40€ which is good

The Dentist I visited, when I came over a couple of years ago recommended a 'LACER' product, which I've found far superior to the Listerine or Corsydyl, I use in the UK - comes in 500ml bootle for around €7/bottle. Might be worth asking at the Farmacia, as I've found most things from the Farmacia are far better than what you get back in the UK.

Lacer products are excellent. They also do a gel which you can put on sore gums. Better than anything you can buy in the U.K.

We use Lacer Clorhexidina mouthwash (and gel for mouth ulcers) cheapest we've found it is Carrefour.

The farmacias sell listerine and clorohexidina - possibly some parafarmacias too.

This is an interesting thread.....I@ve been looking for the gum treatment listerine or equivalent...can not seem to locate any ...even at an inflated cost....might look into Lacer doing one
