Hi
Doors anyone know of a product you can get here for killing off old plant roots, so that they can then be removed? Back on UK I used Root-out, but haven't seen anything similar here. Thanks, Marianna

I have used a very effective alternative. It is called Agua Fuerte and you can buy it at most supermarkets. It's usually situated in the area where floor cleaners and bleaches are displayed. It is very corrosive so be careful as it will discolour and even destroy fabrics and metals and last time I bought some it was something like 3 euros for a two litre bottle.

Agua fuerte is a strong acid- I'm not sure I'd want that leeching down into the soil. Better to use a systemic weedkiller which will kill the roots but break down in soil.

systemic weed killer works by being taken in by the the green leafs and stems of plants that is why you need a leaf area to spray on so will not work on woody roots ...root out was a very good product that i believe is no longer available...
