I have lived in the area for nearly 14 years.
I have not found it any more or less racist than the UK.
It is however a little less PC and someone of a sensitive nature might take offence if they don't get the Spanish cultural differences.
One of my best friends is black. He loves it here and has lived here as long as I have. His wife is white and his children are mixed race.
Be brave and give it a go.

Hi colour doesn't matter but speaking Spanish is a bonus, also working for low rates. It's difficult to find permanent work but it could be easier for you in the Education field. I would advise you to secure the job before you move.
