Temporary/permanent padron

I have just obtained my residencia (I think) and now been informed by Town Hall I have to change my Padron to Permanent to get my SIPP card. Anyone know if this is correct? So I got a temporary Padron to apply for residency and then need to change it.

The padron, whilst valid for 5 years, must be in date by 3 months to apply for the SIP card. You would need to update it.
Doesn't take more than the time it takes to print off the new one if you show your residency card.

Thanks Marcliff. My Padron is recent, but only temporary, apparently, and not valid for SIPP

By the way, anyone applying for residency should take another copy of the S1 health form. I had to go to get a copy even though my lawyer checked everything.

This "temporary" thing must be new. Previously you didn't need a padron to get residency and, indeed, you couldn't get the padron until you got residency. Obviously they have changed things a bit (got my residency some 5 years ago) and probably have a little thing in small print somewhere to explain it.
I have seen that some people have hit a brick wall. They can't get the padron until they have residency but can't get residency until they get the padron. Seems like the National Police and town halls aren't communicating very well. I see you are in the Villamartin area so assume you got both from Orihuela Costa town hall. As they are both located in the same place maybe they are talking to each other so you were issued with a temporary padron. At Rojales they are still issuing just one, or were up until 4 months ago.

I think thats what has happened. No problem getting Padron, now Residency. As I said I was short of copy S1 although not on the list of documents required. Quick visit to travel agent over the road who informed me they are kept busy with people requiring copies of documents. Maybe town hall staff need a reason to create a problem?

I now have my residencia card. Last week I asked at the town hall about obtaining SIPP and was informed I need to update my Padron to permanent once I get my residencia. Asked again this morning, different man on the desk in town hall and informed didnt need to update padron but need to go to social security office in Torrevieja, c/urbano arrequi no 8. Anyone know which is the correct answer and where that office is please? Why is it all so difficult?

Which is why those of us in Rojales area have it so good. Pardon and SIP all done in the same place. Probably the easiest thing I've done here.

When we got ours, last year, we had to provide NIE, passport and a water bill. They wouldn't accept any other utility bill for some reason. I got the padron from Rojales Town Hall, close to the bridge. The office is on the first floor.
When I bought a car though,I didn't need a padron (and hadn't applied for it at that time). They just needed an NIE number.
